Pool for 2025 for networking activities in Future Prevention & Health initiative
Purpose
1. To further develop the active networks that work within and are established in connection with the initiative Future Prevention & Health towards a research project that will result in an application for external funding.
2. To support the development of new, active networks that work within and are established in connection with the initiative Future Prevention & Health by supporting activities that mature the network's research idea towards an externally funded research project.
Two target groups
- The active networks that are part of the Future Prevention & Health initiative.
- All researchers at UCPH related to a potential network within Future Prevention & Health.
Two pools
- DKK 150,000 in pools of preferably DKK 50,000, but up to DKK 100,000 in special cases.
- DKK 50,000 in pools of preferably DKK 15,000
Criteria
That the application meets the described requirements for format and content.
For both 1) and 2) that researchers at UCPH are centrally part of the network.
For both 1) and 2) that external academic or cross-sectoral partners are included in the application.
For pool 1): That the networks are part of a maturing procedure/process organized in dialogue with the steering committee.

Requirements for the format and content of the application
- Brief summary of the research project and specific external funding deadlines.
- Overview of those involved and chair for the network.
- Description of:
- Status of the network.
- Potential for external funding.
- Elaboration on the need for type of support for the development of research projects.
- Expected time horizon.
- The application should take up a maximum of two pages.

E.g:
- Facilitated maturation procedure/process by steering committee
- Facilitated maturation procedure/process by external
- Targeted funding support by UCPH funding support units
- Workshops in a 12.00-12.00 format, including external participation
- Communication products
Requirements for pool 2
Requirements for the format and content of the application
- A brief summary of the network and research idea.
- A brief summary of the activity for which the funds are applied for, as well as an assessment of the effect of this activity.
- Overview of those involved and chair for the network.
- Description of what funding is being applied for, including:
- Description of the content of the activity.
- Description of the expected effect of the activities for which funding is sought.
- Estimate of price, or obtained quotation, for the execution of the activity.
- Time and duration of the activity.
- The application should take up a maximum of two pages.
- In order to be allocated funds, it is assumed that the steering committee can approve the network as part of the Future Prevention & Health initiative. This is done at the same time as the assessment of the application.
Examples of activities in pool 2
Examples of activities for which funding can be applied for
E.g.:
- Operation of small-scale (pilot) experiments or data collections, which can serve as proof-of-concept.
- Workshop in a 12.00-12.00 format for network and project development.
- Other types of network activities.
Prioritisation of applications
If the received applications exceed the total amount available in the pool, priority will be given to applications that are deemed to have the greatest potential to support the development of interdisciplinary and innovative initiatives.
Application deadline
The pool is open for applications from 24 June to 15 September 2025 at 12.00.

Granting of funding
Decisions on the allocation of funds and the specific process for approved pool 1 applications are made by the steering committee (Nikolai Baastrup Nordsborg, Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports, Theis Lange, Department of Public Health, Trine Winterø, Vice-Dean, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Ayo Wahlberg, Department of Anthropology).
Use of allocated funds
Allocated funds must be used in 2025.
