Is interdisciplinary research in Denmark too unambitious?

Missions and interdisciplinarity are prominent trends in research policy. However, only limited success has been achieved in realising the interdisciplinary potential. The research environments exist, and the societal challenges are real. So what is holding us back? How can we create the best framework for collaboration across the natural, social, health and humanities sciences? And how can we ensure close interaction with other actors?

The panel will discuss how interdisciplinarity in research can be strengthened based on strong basic research environments and implementation-ready partners.

What is needed if we are to achieve an effective green transition in food production, healthy cities of the future, optimal use of health data or reduce health inequalities?
